Marine pollution is one of the most urgent threats facing our ocean today. Every year, an estimated 14 million metric tons of plastic waste enter the sea, killing marine life, poisoning food chains, and disrupting fragile ecosystems. To confront this growing crisis, SEA SHEPHERD Global partnered with UNSHOT, an AI-driven creative production company, to launch a bold awareness video that reveals what we may find in our ocean if urgent action isn’t taken.

The video uses cinematic storytelling and AI technology to bring viewers face to face with a disturbing reality: plastic pollution is replacing marine life at a terrifying pace. The 60-second film captures sea life sculpted entirely from ocean debris, from fishing nets and bags to plasticware, straws, cigarette butts, and bottle caps. These haunting visual metaphors serve as a wake-up call, reminding us that our ocean is drowning in the waste of human consumption.

Built using real waste materials identified in marine conservation reports and brought to life with AI-enhanced production, the campaign champions innovation in service of activism. It is a call to rethink what we consume, what we waste, and what we are willing to do to protect the ocean, the lungs of our planet.
“Art has the power to expose truth and move people to action. This video challenges the world to see ocean pollution not as distant data, but as a living emergency.”
– Geert Vons, Chief Creative Officer Sea Shepherd
Pollution is preventable, but only if we act. Help us defend marine life against plastic waste and lost and discarded gear from the fishing industry.
