CHOKED 2.0 is a powerful short environmental dance film created and choreographed by James Bennett and co-directed by Noel Sullivan, led by the exceptional Edward Watson MBE, former principal of the Royal Ballet.

Starring Ed Watson MBE, the film explores the devastating impact of plastic pollution on our oceans, blending haunting imagery with breathtaking movement. Filmed on the beaches of James’s hometown – Margate, UK, the project brought together professional artists, emerging dancers, and members of the local community to create a shared story of resilience, urgency, and hope. Through dance, CHOKED 2.0 shines a light on one of the most pressing issues of our time – reminding us that the tides of change begin with us.

“This film has been brought to life thanks to an incredible community of like-minded individuals who have generously donated their time, expertise, and talent – united by a shared mission: to protect our oceans, with the hope that it inspires change – to spark conversation about how we produce and consume plastic, and to also support Sea Shepherd, addressing the devastating impact industrial overfishing is having on our ocean.” – James Bennett
Plastic pollution poses a grave threat to our ocean. Despite countless discussions, conferences, and reports, the problem persists.
We clearly need a new approach. We need artists who are deeply committed to protecting and serving our ocean
